We here at the Bolton Ufo Society have regular skywatches as well as meetings. The skywatches are nearly always practiced in our local area but on occation we have been know to go further afield.
On Monday night which was the 7th of August Bufos took part in a skywatch in our local area known as Winter Hill.
We all met up at the top of Winter Hill around 8.30 to take part in this event, the sky was very clear but there was a cold wind but i suppose you would have to expect that up as high as we were.
The event was a success with plenty to see as the night came in with plenty of visual sightings of aeroplanes as well as shooting stars, we were hoping that ET might just make an appearance but no such luck this time, maybe next time but we will keep looking you never know.
Over the years we here at BUFOS have had numerous reports from the public and also on one occation the local police of strange lights over that area of which some go back to the 60s & 70s.
Rivington and Winter Hill are well known for UFO sightings and are a haven for UFO spotters from all around the country.
