Hi there and welcome to our new website my name is Phil Catterall and i am the founder of the society which was started back in 1996.
Over the past 10 years the society has had no less than 150 sightings reported to us of unusual lights in the sky or just objects which cannot be identified. You would be surprised just how many people see something and dont know what they are seeing or who to report it too, well now you can report it to us.
Just go to the contact us page.
You dont have to leave your name or number if you dont wish to, just tell us about your sighting.
We are a very well organised society and newcomers are always welcome.
Watch this space for further news and keep watching the skies.

BUFOS TV APPEARANCE 1998
In 1998 Bufos were approached by Granada TV in Manchester to take part in a TV documentary about UFOs. The programme was to be called "WATCH THE SKIES"
We took part in a reconstruction of a sighting that we had over the Winter Hill area back in July 1998.
We where taking part in a skywatch which resulted in sighting something in the skies flying over Rivington and heading off towards Darwen. Even people who were driving around Rivington stopped their cars and get out to take a look at this object, so its not as if we made all this up to deceive anyone.
We must have had dozens of calls regarding this sighting so it wasnt just "pie in the sky" as they say.
Below is the article that was in the Bolton Evening News.
