WAS GEORGE ORWELL RIGHT??
1984, yes 1984 has been and gone but just what was it that inspired George Orwell to write about a forth coming year back in 1959? Did he see a dramatic change coming in our country or was he just a fantasist like so many writers before him?
Either way the book he wrote back then still stands its ground on all counts, he wrote about forth coming events which would change our lives in regards to policing and politics as well as our privacy being invaded on all counts, just what is it that he saw back then that we are only just begging to see right now and just what is it that we can do about it or is it to late, it seems that everything we do, where ever we go we are being watched, checked, labeled and numbered sounds like something out of the 60s series "THE PRISONER" well its happening, all around us and right now it will be very hard to turn it around as we the British public have always let the powers that be have their way without questioning them or their motives.

Over the last couple of years when the time comes close to one of our UFO meetings i sit and wonder just how long will it be during the course of the meeting will it be before somebody wants to stray away from our beloved topic and concentrate on the events which are happening all around us these days. The way we see it is that if we as a group are just meeting up every 3 weeks or so to discuss UFO events and sighting around the globe etc only to have these meetings trashed because people have other events and ideas running around their minds through no fault of their own, then it just goes to show how much we are ALL getting to the point were enough is enough!
You are thinking now, yeh, but what has this got to do with Ufology? Answer is nothing! You have got to take a step back and think about what is going on around you and because you do this you tend to forget sometimes just were it is that your interests lie.
The powers that be have done a really good job of disrupting our everyday lives and we as a group have noticed these changes over the course of the last 5 years or so, gone are the days when you could just get into your car a drive down to Wilshire to look at the crop circles or something, you will be watched and caught on camera roughly around 100 times on the way down there! A family day out to Blckpool or Southport, the same again, is it fair that your private life is being watched and documented by spying eyes everywhere you go.
Go to the petrol station just to fill up, cameras are watching you then you pay for your fuel by debit card and the powers that be know exactly how much you are spending, its your money, you work hard for that money so why should they be so god damn interested what you spend it on!!
Did you know that we the British   public are the most spied on country in the whole world, yes the whole world. You are, tracked, bugged, logged, tapped, detected, tagged, surveyed, located. WHY?

Police can bug phone calls at the request of more that 800 bodies including councils and NHS Trusts. Almost 1000 people a day are snooped on.
Details of every mobile phone call and texts are stored by phone companies for up to 12 months. Mobiles can even be used to track peoples movements even when they are turned off because signals are picked up by phone masts.

The automatic number plate recognition system can link up to more than 1000 traffic cameras anywhere in the UK and track our car journeys. The Infared cameras can read 3000 registration plates in one hour. FRIGHTENING EH!!

Britain has around 4.2 million CCTV cameras and we are captured   on camera more than 300 times a day, every day.
Town centres, car parks,   bus stops, traffic junctions and even at the cash machine withdrawing YOUR MONEY..
IT;S LOOKING LIKE GEORGE WAS RIGHT!!
Every website you visit is logged and be accessed by snoops and all search engine queries are monitored and can also be used to build up a profile about you.

They are even fitting micro chips into our wheelie bins just to record how much waste we produce, whats next, toilet seats? You can laugh but this is Great Britain, not looking so great now is it?

If you join a catalogue your bank details go to thousands of other firms in the Abacus data-sharing consortium which holds info on around 26,000,000 of us.
As you have all read about these so called (none) infringements in our every day lives i came across a letter in the Bolton Evening News a couple of days ago and thought this guy deserves to have his letter put onto our website.

The letter was written by a Mr Jason Harvey of Chorley Old Road in Bolton, and Jason i hope you dont mind as this will be going world wide but you got it all in a nutshell.
ON CAMERA 24/7..
JASON WRITES....

I am becoming increasingly concerened about my loss of privacy in our high-tech surveillance society.

There are cameras seemingly everywhere-on every street corner,in every shop, on the motorways, industrial estates and even on council estates.

There are cameras in our cash points, recording where and how much money we take out and so on.

Let's take a typical day in Mr A N Others much observed life.

He walks down the road to the bus stop where he is recorded by the all seeing camera on a pole, then filmed again by a hidden camera in the bus stop and again on the bus.
He gets off the bus at the bus station, where he is recorded by yet another series of cameras.

He does some shopping in a department store where he is filmed many times as he makes purchases with his credit card.

Both his credit and loyalty card record what he has bought and how much he has spent, which will be stored on his file so that he can be targeted with advertising later.

As he walks around the town, he calls his wife on his mobile phone, which triangulates his possition and is a seperate record of where he goes,
to within a few yards. As he talks on the phone he is filmed by a series of cameras dotted around the town.

It is a bit frightening to think that we could be under observation for much of our waking lives. All these cameras have been introduced without any kind of consultation, supposedly for our own security. Who knows what the operators of these cameras are actually looking at?

The question is: Has the imposition of the undemocratic and unasked for surveillance system actually seen a reduction in overall crime? Sadly, i think not.
The trouble is, we have all sat back and allowed this to happen without so much as a murmer and now i fear it has gone to far and is much too late to reverse the trend.

SEE YOU SOON --- ON A SCREEN NEAR US BOTH..

JASON HARVEY..
I KID YOU NOT, THIS LETTER APPEARED IN THE BOLTON EVENING NEWS ON PAGE 8 ON THE 22nd OF APRIL 2008.
